Your Goodbye, Your Way.
A fresh, honest approach to funeral ceremonies. Because saying goodbye should feel right, not rushed or rehearsed.
Hi, I’m Greg Colby. With 20+ years in the funeral industry, there’s one thing I know for sure: no two lives are the same, so why should the farewells be? We’ve all been to those funerals where the service just doesn’t fit. The words feel off, the tone’s wrong, and the person’s essence is nowhere to be found. I’ve also seen how powerful it is when people are given the freedom to create a farewell that truly reflects the life lived.
That’s why your choice celebrancy exists: to offer honest guidance, creative, thoughtful, reflective options, and the space to do things your way. This is your moment to choose what feels right.
Need to talk? You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t even need to be sure you’re ready.
Whether you’re planning a funeral or memorial, thinking ahead with a pre-plan, or curious about holding a living wake. I’m here to talk it through.
I work with several funeral directors in the Hunter, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle & Central Coast areas. This means I can help you make contact with a funeral director as well as workl with you to design a service or ceremony that makes sense.
Sometimes the best first step is simply a conversation.
Please provide your details below and we’ll get back to you to make an appointment.
I am not your traditional celebrant and that's the point.
We offer transparent guidance, flexibility, and the freedom to honour a life in a way that truly reflects the person.
We walk beside you through the practical steps, the emotional moments, and the creative choices, at your pace.
You’ll see that there are no templates, no rules for exactly what you should or shouldn’t do and no expectations. Whether it’s a surf club send-off, a backyard gathering, a thought-provoking church service, indigenous ceremony or even a picnic in the park…
My team and I give you the freedom to celebrate life the way it was lived. We’ll help make it happen with no pressure, no expectations, and genuine care.
I’m Greg and I started your choice celebrancy because I believe in honesty, compassion, and doing things differently.
After years of supporting families through life’s hardest moments, I’ve seen firsthand the beauty of saying goodbye in a way that’s personal and true.
This isn’t about ceremony for ceremony’s sake. It’s about meaning, memory, and making space for what really matters.

Standing with Stories of Loss—Why I’m Proud to Sponsor Grieve 2025
Grief is a landscape I am intimately familiar with. It’s shaped me, broken me open, and, over time, shown me how to keep going—even when the path felt impossible.
The Power and Beauty of a Living Wake
When we think of farewells, we usually picture what happens after someone has passed. But more and more, I’ve found people asking a different question: “What if we said goodbye while they were still here to hear it?” That’s what a living wake offers and it can be one of the most powerful experiences for everyone involved.
Finding Andrew: Farewelling a Complicated Man
Some funerals are simple. You gather the memories, tell the stories, and celebrate a life well-lived. But others ask more of you. They invite you into complexity, into relationships that didn’t follow the textbook, into grief that’s tangled up in decades of silence and love that didn’t always find the right words. Andrew’s funeral was one of those. And I’m grateful for it.
